Fred Weigel is an experienced Chief Information Officer, information systems executive, and academic within the Healthcare Industry. He is currently an Associate Professor at the Army-Baylor University Graduate Program in Health and Business Administration, teaching Health Management Information Systems, statistics, and research design. Fred's most recent previous position was as the Chief Information Officer for the Eisenhower Army Medical Center, Fort Gordon, Georgia. Fred led a staff of 65, providing information management support for 3,200 staff members spread over Georgia, Mississippi, Florida, and Puerto Rico.
His research interests lie in healthcare administration, diffusion of innovations, health information security and forensics, text-based research methods, and medical informatics. Fred also has a background as a MEDEVAC (air ambulance) pilot with experience in disaster response and large scale evacuation (e.g. Hurricane Katrina).
